Alarm leads come from Irkutsk. The local newspaper MK-Baikal on pages No. 37 (104) dated September 10-17, 2014 recognized "incorrect and subject to refutation of information, defaming vice-rector for the scientific work of IRGTU, Doctor of Economics, Professor Vitaly Peshkov." And further. “Currently, the value and scientific novelty of the dissertation study by Vitaly Peshkov <...> experts of the Dissernet network community are not disputed, thus, the use of the adjective“ false ”regarding the specified dissertation was unreasonable.” So, frightened by the court decision unpredictable in the realities of Irkutsk, the editors of the newspaper MK-Baikal, based on understandable practical reasons, hastened to conclude with Professor V.V. Peshkov, a settlement agreement. This is clear to us. But why did they need to speak for the disserter? Let us leave this on their conscience, just like the conscience of Professor Peshkov will leave his dissertation work [1] .
It's not about Peshkov, and not even in the many thousands of the Peskov army, but in us. In a conscious or unconscious rejection of the civilizational path of development of society. In a society, in which they have long realized that the false scholarship of the narcissistic careerists threatens to drag the whole country into the abyss of medieval obscurantism, they openly admit that “ Scientifc Fraud Causes Serious Social Harm ” [2] . Do you need a translation here? And further: “ ... The Criminalization of Research Fraud Is a Necessary Measure .” In our country, unfortunately, everything happens the other way around. Those who are trying to fight falsifier scientists are in the dock. So far, we will leave as soon as the conversation about the obvious political, economic and reputation consequences of such public attitudes. We turn to impartial statistics.
It is known that among Russian physicists there are Nobel Prize winners. A little, but they are. But among Russian economists there is only one - Leonid Kantorovich (1975). How so? There is no logic in this. The army of Russian economists is much more powerful than physicists and mathematicians combined. According to the Higher Attestation Commission, for 2013, about three hundred scientists became doctors of economic sciences, while the degree of Doctor Fiz.-Mat. Sciences received one and a half times less. Near three thousand people became candidates of economic sciences for the same period, and Phiz. Sciences - less than 1,400. The bibliographic and abstract database of Scopus helped to figure it out.
On this schedule on the vertical axis, the share of Russian scientific articles in the general ocean of publications indexed in the SCOPUS database is postponed. This was done separately for various scientific disciplines. It can be seen that physicists, mathematicians, chemists, biologists make the largest (contrary to straightforward arithmetic) to world science. And the smallest - economists, sociologists, political scientists. But what's interesting.
On the horizontal axis, the number of linden dissertations containing large -scale incorrect borrowings from other people's work, that is, frankly false. Data taken from the base of the disserternet community. Of course, it does not take into account all linden scientists, but the ratio between various scientific disciplines in terms of the practice of scientific falsifications as a whole is proper. And what turns out? Despite the absolute numerical advantage of economists, their contribution to world science is minimal, and the contribution to the falsification of scientific knowledge is maximum. The reader can draw conclusions himself.
The Peshkov army by hook or by crook tries to put dust in the eyes of society, considering itself to the world of science. By this, they themselves, perhaps without knowing, inevitably delay the country into the abyss of obscurantism and economic dependence on more developed countries.
Rumor has it that Professor Peshkov is going to sue with a disserter. Well, well, let's see.
