Following a wave of complaints that the new iPhones bend if you carry them in the pocket of tight trousers, a second wave followed - jokes and photoshoots on the topic, which was attached to the #Bendgate tag . TJournal has collected the best examples of the latter.

For several years in a row, new Apple smartphones, barely falling into the hands of their first customers, became the object of not only admiration, but also criticism and ridicule (which, however, did not stop fans from lining up several weeks before the start of sales of the next line).

Over the years, new iPhones have been criticized due to problems with the antenna and peeling coating, and in the case of the “large” iPhone 6 Plus, the reason for user dissatisfaction was the risk of accidentally bending the device. However, criticism quickly gave way to irony.

Jokers from the Internet made fun of the iPhone 6 Plus in comparison with other Apple products, compared the new iPhones with Dali's paintings and found a lot of cultural associations, from the robot Bender (Futurama) to Neo (The Matrix). Separately, the style of carrying an iPhone in the back pocket of jeans, which allegedly became the reason for the launch of the #Bendgate tag, went down. Moreover, in reality, the author of the first post about the bent “six” claimed that he kept the smartphone in his front pocket.

Apple, meanwhile, expressed its readiness to replace all bent iPhones free of charge - if an examination proves that the pressure that caused the deformation was unintentional. The company did not specify how exactly such an examination would be carried out.
