Rovio has published the first gameplay trailer for Angry Birds Transformers: the game turns out to be a dynamic runner.
The announcement of Angry Birds Transformers took place on June 16, but until the end of September, Rovio did not even specify what genre its new project would represent. The media assumed that the new game would be similar to Angry Birds Star Wars (familiar gameplay with licensed characters), but it turned out to be a 3D runner.
In the minute-long trailer, the heroes (a mix of familiar birds and robots called "autobirds") move from left to right and shoot at buildings and hostile pigs with propellers ("deceptihogs") in the background. At the same time, the transformer can, if necessary, turn into a car in order to accelerate and avoid buildings falling on it.
The project is replete with explosions and slow-mo, and also allows you to play with a “mechanical assistant”, a second character who can also be controlled. The release of Transformers for iOS is scheduled for October 15, and Android users will have to wait another two weeks.
Despite the recent release of the role-playing game Angry Birds Epic and a version for girls called Angry Birds Stella, the project in the Transformers universe is attracting the most attention. At the end of August, its trailer, made in the style of eighties cartoons, went viral on the Internet and received almost a million views on YouTube.
After news in April that Rovio's annual profits had almost halved , the company is increasingly experimenting with genres, abandoning the basic mechanics of Angry Birds.
