There will be a new director in RIII

The Russian Institute of Art History in St. Petersburg (RIII, Zubovsky Institute) will receive a new director.

This was announced by Interfax by the chairman of the competitive commission of the Public Council of the Ministry of Culture of Russia Grigory Zaslavsky, reports Gazeta.ru .

He noted that Olga Koch, who occupies this position, will in the near future will be dismissed.

According to Zaslavsky, the competitive commission of the Public Council of the Ministry of Culture hopes that an experienced manager who is guided in the economy will be given to help the new director. Zaslavsky also said that the commission unanimously approved the concept of the institute’s development, represented by the vice-rector of the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater Arts Elena Tretyakova.

The vice-rector of St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts Olga Koch was appointed director of RIII instead of Tatyana Klyavina dismissed in June 2013.

Soon, employees of the institute announced illegal dismissals. “An open cooch phase of individual pressure and direct personnel repressions is unprecedented in the centenary history of the institute, with the exception of the second half of the 1930s, when it was almost completely destroyed,” the resolution of the trade union meeting of RIII said.

Back in May 2013, after the Ministry of Culture decided to merge Riii with the Moscow Institute of Cultural Studies, with a request to prevent the liquidation of RIII to Vladimir Putin was addressed by the institute. In their opinion, for the initiators of the merger project, not Riii himself is the main value, but the building on Isaac's Square in which it is located.
