In 1990, a year before the collapse of the USSR, which took the last faith in socialist dreams, Vlad Listyev triggers the program “Field of Miracles”, sarcastically calling its “capital show” format.
At that time I was three years old. I grew up in an ordinary family, faced with all the troubles of the 90s-a delay in salaries, empty shelves and an unstable tomorrow; In the family, in which every Friday evening all together watched the “Field of Miracles”. We rejoiced when we guessed the words before the players, and laughed at the jokes of the host.
And in these evenings, as in any others, they were united.
Around then, I promised everyone that one day I would get to the "Field of Miracles". It seemed that this is the most sure way to make my relatives be proud of, and I became famous throughout the country.
Two years ago, I began to work on this story.
Hiding behind the promise given in childhood, in fact, I was preparing critical work about capitalist society, consumerism and thirst for fast upright.
But the further the events developed, the more the story was like the fight against windmills. The “right” and “guilty” constantly changed places, players, spectators, my family, I am Leonid Yakubovich himself in a homogeneous mass of tired, frightened, not knowing what they want, puppets huge, no longer important when and by whom and by whom the created system.
And at the moment when I ended up in a dressing room with a fifty -year -old Yesaul, a BDSM model that smaches a varnish arrow on tights, children, dogs and a folk ensemble of songs and dancing, from which the CD -Disa stopped to play so inappropriately, I suddenly felt that, as it turned out, and went on this two -year journey.
Unity through the collective trauma, antinomic culture, but, most importantly, that it was so difficult to accept in others and to yourself is a simple human vulnerability, a weak place and the most important advantage.
