
The Moscow District Military Court sentenced the colonel of the Armed Forces Vitaly Zaichenko to two years conditionally, for the fact that he handed over his laptop on which there were secret documents for repair to Ukraine. This was reported by RAPSI. The colonel was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 283 of the Criminal Code (disclosure of state secrets). As an additional punishment on Zaichenko, a two -year ban was imposed on the state and military service.
Since 2009, the colonel headed the 5th department of the department of the head of the electronic warfare troops of the Armed Forces. He was responsible for organizing electronic protection. The position held provided by Zaichenko access to information with the vultures "Particularly Secret" and "Top Secret".
The court considered it established that the colonel kept part of the secret data on a personal laptop. After the breakdown, he gave the device for repairing his sister - a citizen of Ukraine, and she took him to his country and first gave it to one, and then the other master to repair and decipher information.
After repairing the laptop, the verdict is approved, at the disposal of Ukrainian citizens who repaired the device, the secret order of the Minister of Defense and the government decree governing the radar struggle regulation were included. Nevertheless, it is noted that this did not result in serious consequences.
According to the agency, Zaichenko changed testimony several times. At first he denied the fact of transferring a laptop to Ukraine. Then the colonel fully recognized the charged with the charged, after which he was released from the pre -trial detention center. During the process itself, however, the defendant said that he really handed the laptop to Ukraine, but there were no secret files on it.
