© TASSToday, October 1, the use of a new spelling of the name of the Russian State Information Agency, previously known as ITAR-TASS, began. Now it is called TASS (in a brief form) or “TASS” information agency (in full form).
In English, the name Russian News Agency TASS (or, in a brief form, TASS ) is introduced.
The name TASS and the new corporate identity agency has been using other media outlets from today, on Internet resources, in business printing, advertising materials and souvenir products, TASS reports. The agency’s initiative to return to the former name was supported at a meeting of the organizing committee to prepare for the celebration of the 110th anniversary of ITAR-TASS in March this year. On September 1, on the day of the 110th anniversary of the Agent, a new logo and corporate identity was presented.
“The new brand of the oldest Russian news agency is designed to become a symbol of professionalism, enthusiasm, readiness for the self -development of his team and the desire of the agency to protect and develop his best traditions,” says Sergey Mikhailov CEO Sergey Mikhailov.
Currently, work is underway to make appropriate changes to the charter of the agency. The agency’s transition to the new brand is planned to be fully implemented before the end of 2015.
The name TASS appeared in 1925, when a resolution of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR on the basis of the Russian Telegraph Agency (Growth) created a telegraph agency of the Soviet Union. In January 1992, by decree of President Boris Yeltsin, the agency was renamed ITAR -TASS (ITAR - the Russian Information Telegraph Agency).
