The governor of the Donetsk region Sergey Taruta confirmed information about the planned exchange of the Donetsk airport in the territory adjacent to the regional center. This is reported by the Mariupol site 0629.com.ua. Earlier it was reported that the airport held by the Ukrainian military will be exchanged for occupied Novoazovsk.

"Negotiations on the exchange of the airport are really underway. Unfortunately, Novoazovsk is not discussed in these negotiations - it will still remain an occupied city. The exchange will be carried out in the territory close to Donetsk. We are talking about large territories," Taruta said.

The Ukrainian government forces must leave Donetsk Airport in accordance with the Minsk agreements on the ceasefire, said the commander of the Donbass battalion Semen Semenchenko on the air of Espreso.TV. "In any case, the Donetsk airport should have been given according to the agreements. However, for what today it is held and put up again, it is not clear," said Semen Semenchenko.

On April 17, Donetsk Airport was captured by separatists . On May 27, Ukrainian government forces after a fierce battle liberated the airport. Currently, despite the truce, the airport is constantly undergoing shelling. Russian troops and separatists have repeatedly tried to take it storm , including using tanks.
