It turns out that under the Moscow Avenue there is a tunnel that can be used to improve the transport situation.
Petersburg, of course, is not Rome and not Paris, under which, as they say, everything is exposed by catacombs. But in our city there are underground structures that units know about. For example, near Moskovsky Prospekt, at the Elektro metro station, there is a tunnel of a four -meter width, according to which it is quite possible to allow vehicles.
The tunnel in the late 60s was needed by the Electrosil plant, the buildings of which were located on both sides of Moskovsky Prospekt and there was a permanent message between them. The tunnel near Moscow Avenue was digging with a scope, openly, for a couple of years overlap the highway.
The pedestrian crossing is still operating, but they forgot about the automobile tunnel. He would have remained abandoned and interesting only to the diggers, if not for the connoisseur of the history of the Moscow region Alexander GUK.
“I have been living in the Moscow region all my life, in my youth I worked at the Electrosil,” Alexander told the “new”. “I am familiar with local problems. One of them is an eternal traffic jam because of the left turn from Moskovsky Prospekt to the Reshetnikov St.: Many residents of Kupchino are returning home this way.”
Cars standing in a traffic jam on the left turn. Their drivers would be clearly grateful to the city authorities for the opportunity to quickly find themselves on Reshetnikov Street
Mariinskaya street. Here it would be possible to organize a single -lane exit for drivers who traveled along the tunnel
According to Alexander Guk, the forgotten tunnel could facilitate the transport situation: drivers traveling around Moscow to the south would leave a little to the right after the O'Kay store, drove into the tunnel and left from the other side of the avenue in the Mariinskaya Street area.
The tunnel itself, owned by the city (St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise "Mostotrest"), most likely requires only cosmetic repairs, so you will not have to block the avenue for the duration of work. Of course, there are difficulties: if it is relatively easy to organize the entrance from the western side, then the buildings of the Power Machines concern are located from the east next to the exit from the tunnel. Departure to Mariinskaya Street will cost significant costs, including the redemption of land for city needs. But against the background of savings through the use of an existing tunnel ... The question is at least worthy of consideration. From a technical point of view, Alexander GUK is sure, an engineer in education, everything is solved.

The activist proposed an amendment to the general plan at the last hearings and sent a request to the city authorities.
However, the transport infrastructure committee did not seriously accept the proposal of the resident. The officials decided that since at the intersection the left turn of the trolleybus from the Moscow pr. On the street. Reshetnikova, then "the expected positive effect is incommensurable in comparison with the costs necessary for the implementation."
“Of course, you will have to spend money, and there is a problem with the trolleybus, but thousands of citizens will not have to spend the daily every day in this traffic jam,” said Alexander Guk. “I will try to convince the officials that this is a profitable solution.
The city spends billions on the construction of bypass and through highways, on multi -level interchanges - all in order to solve the problem of traffic jams. And in the case of a tunnel near Moskovsky Prospekt, they dismiss from the possibility of quickly and inexpensively improve the transport situation without even making calculations! "
