Alexander Borisovich Altshuler was born in 1938 in Leningrad, was engaged in the poetic studio of the Palace of Pioneers, and then in the literary studio of the Pedagogical Institute. He graduated from the Technological Institute. The Lensoveta, where he met with Evgeny Rhine, Dmitry Bobyshev and Anatoly Naiman. Youth friendship connected him with Leonid Aronzon, the name of Altshuler remained mentioned in several famous poems of Aronzon.
In 1965, he participated in the Fioretti almanac - the now legendary monument to the Leningrad Samizdat, then published in the Samizdat magazines TransPonance and Mitin magazine, in the post -perestroika collection of 24 poets and 2 commissars, in the Network magazines of the Divii and Textonly . The verses of Altshuler are represented in the anthology of Konstantin Kuzminsky “At the Blue Laguna” and the anthology of Russian poetry outside Russia “Liberated Ulysses”.
The first book of the verses of Altshuler “Is it always a row for a row” was published in 1998 in Jerusalem. The most complete collection of works by the poet “I do not know the name” was published in 2008 by the Novikov Petersburg publishing house. The book was awarded a diploma of the Union of Book Pictures of Russia in the nomination "The Art of the Book - 2009".
