Protection of minority rights

On October 22, 2014, in the city of Moscow, a round table “Monitoring of compliance with the rights of representatives of ethnic minorities and indigenous peoples in Russia” will be held.

The organizers are the European Office of the Minority Rights Group Europe), the international network is the youth human rights movement and the Civil Promotion Committee.

The round table is dedicated to the fourth cycle of monitoring the compliance of the European Raque Convention on the Protection of the Rights of Ethnic Minorities in the Russian Federation (the Convention is ratified by the Russian Federation by the Federal Law of June 18, 1998 N 84-ФЗ).

The purpose of the round table is to prepare specialists for monitoring and further drawing up an alternative report to comply with Russia of the European Framular Convention on the Protection of Ethnic Minorities.

Civil activists and human rights activists are invited to participate in the round table, interested in the protection of the rights of representatives of various language, ethnic, religious groups, migrants and refugees.

When selecting applications, priority will be given to the participants of the regional seminars of the European Office of the Group of Minorities and the International Human Rights School of Rights and Civil Actions (Voronezh-May 2013, Moscow-August 2013, St. Petersburg-December 2013, Krasnodar-October 2014).

- members of the Public Supervisory Commission of the Kaluga Region engaged in the protection of the rights of stateless persons in places of forced content;

- The legal clinic KF MGEI suggested in the fourth monitoring cycle to start work on lobbying for the rights of elderly migrants.
