There is not a single word of truth here. According to the program administrator David Patton, the family who took the student remaining in the United States was "traditional." He added that the child who arrived about the FLEX program can be directed to the same -sex family, but only with his own consent and the consent of his parents.

The TASS correspondent in Washington tells from the words of the employees of the Russian embassy engaged in the incident, a completely different story. Diplomats say that the Russian schoolboy ”met in the church with a couple of elderly homosexuals, the former military who had previously adopted two American boys. They promised a teenager to become his“ sponsors ”and even pay for their studies at Harvard University. Neither the US authorities, nor the administrators of the program, forcibly, were forcibly to return them to their homeland to themselves. Which is evident with certainty from the text of the warning on the program website:

FLEX participants are required to return to their homeland at the end of the program per day determined by American Soviets. The American visa issued to the program participant cannot be fixed or extended after the end of participation in the program for any reason.

What happened after the student did not return? His mother turned to the Russian embassy in Washington and talked about it. “The embassy immediately informed the American authorities responsible for the implementation of the exchange program,” the TASS reported, “including the State Department, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health. They, however, refused to intervene, citing the fact that they did not have the necessary powers for this.”

This is understandable: from the moment when the young man announced his intention to stay in America, the case goes into the exclusive competence of the US immigration service. No other federal departments resolve these issues. Then the diplomats went to Michigan. The mother of the schoolboy arrived there. The meeting, writes TASS correspondent, took place "in the presence of local lawyers, what the US authorities insisted on. The excitement of the mother in such a situation is easy to understand, but what was she happy, what kind of medication she took? By the way, it is impossible to understand by any of the versions of what happened whether the Russian schoolchild is full of a family or only one parent in it, and most importantly - whether the “controversial” child is gay. But these details could clarify a lot.

Nevertheless, Russian diplomats call the incident an “immoral history” and tell the journalist about “complaints of other children who participated in the FLEX program, low quality education in American schools or strict rationing the number of food consumed, using the toilet and the like.” In general, evil Americans are sealed with hunger and forbid them to go to the toilet.

Pavel Astakhov is suffering from parents with even more terrible stories: as if the children who went to the USA in the summer educational program "fell into a totalitarian sect. And the embassy’s employees add: the decision to abandon the FLEX program is dictated by "the requirements of our legislation to protect the rights of minors and the international legal obligations of our country in the fight against the trade in children and children's prostitution." The expenses of the program are fully paid for by the US government - what does the trade in children have to do with it? And what does prostitution have to do with it?

Each exchange participant is now aware of his rights and knows where to turn for help in case of any complications.

But not a single country except Russia occurred to abandon school exchanges. All over the world it is the most popular form of training. It must be improved. And to fence off from the whole world with a picket fence of prohibitions means to doom the youth of their country to a limited horizons and isolation.
