With a proposal to assign one of the streets of Moscow, the name of Yuri Lyubimov was made by Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky. “I think that the street in Moscow would be right. Too iconic figure for the city, for Moscow theaters, especially for Taganka, ”the minister said.
This initiative was also supported by the chairman of the Union of Theater Workers, Alexander Kalyagin, director Valery Fokin and other cultural figures.
Theater director and actor, founder of the Taganka Theater, Yuri Lyubimov, died on Sunday, October 5, at the age of 97. Farewell to the director takes place at the Vakhtangov Theater.
