“My brother never admits his fault of what he has not done, but he will not lie,” says Natasha, the cousin of the 36-year-old film director Oleg Sentsov*, now the prisoner of the Moscow Lefortovo prison.
On May 30, a press release appeared on the website of the Russian FSB, which reported: “In the territory of the Republic of Crimea, members of the FSB of Russia were detained by members of the Diversion-Terrorism Group of the Right Sector. The main goal of the criminal activity of the group was the commission of sabotage-terrorist acts in the cities of Simferopol, Yalta and Sevastopol <...> The case contains Sentsov O.G., Afanasyev G.O., Chirniy A.V., Kolchenko A.A. <...>.
On the same day, two detainees were shown on the first channel - Afanasyev and Chirniya, who admitted the preparation of terrorist attacks.
Of the directors - to terrorists?
Back in 2005, Lefortovo SIZO passed from the FSB to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. However, the Investigative Department of the FSB remained there, in Lefortovo, in the former building. The FSIN employees with a smile call Feesbashnikov “neighbors”, in every possible way emphasizing their independence. But a few minutes of communication with them are enough to understand: in a pre -trial detention center, formally subordinating to the civilian department, the traditions of the most closed Moscow prison are sacredly observed, where state criminals were always kept.
Lawyers who protect Lefortovo inhabitants, as a rule, give a subscription to non -disclosure of the materials of the preliminary investigation - otherwise they can be removed from the case under various pretexts. On Thursday, May 29, the head of the 3rd department of the FSB of Russia, Colonel of Justice, Mikhail Savitsky, decided to take the same subscription from the correspondent of The New Times, who visited the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center along with two members of the Moscow ONC.
The deputy chief of the pre -trial detention center Viktor Krykarin met human rights activists as always affably, and when he found out that they wanted to see the “Ukrainians”, he called the “neighbors”. After that, a man of about forty entered his office, in a gray jacket in a small, slightly noticeable strip, in a striped blue shirt, on which a motley tie dangled. “You should not invade the data of the preliminary investigation, because you may accidentally become aware that we would not want you to convey to someone,” so Colonel Savitsky explained to the human rights activists the reason for his appearance in the cabinet of Cabinet.
"
“Can a film director be a terrorist? I have never heard that terrorists met among the directors. "
"
“There is Law No. 76“ On Public Control ”and there is article 20 there, which warns us of non-disclosure of the secrets of the investigation, why should we give some kind of subscription? - surprised the human rights activist Lyudmila Alpern. “We have been walking around Moscow prisons since 2009, and they have never taken subscriptions from us.”
“We have prepared for your arrival, I advise you to put your signatures and end this,” the colonel insisted.
“Listen, can a film director be a terrorist? I was a film critic and never heard terrorists among filmmakers, ”the FSB colonel Dilyar Tasbulatova asked.
“Of course, maybe,” the colonel answered confidently and said just as confidently: the arrested “shines” 20 years of imprisonment.
"Can we ask, beat them during the detention, was there any pressure on them?" - The human rights activists did not let up.
“No, you can only ask what happened during the stage, the rest is the secret of the investigation,” Savitsky explained, looking impatiently at his watch.
** Article 310 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Disclosure of the secrets of the preliminary investigation”: for disclosing the secrets of the preliminary investigation to the person warned about this, faces a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles, or mandatory work for up to 480 hours, or correctional labor for up to two years, or arrest for up to three months.
The conversation is over, the subscription of the non -disclosure members of the PMC refused to give ** - Colonel Savitsky left without saying goodbye.
"My country will not leave me"
Members of the PMC in the pre-trial detention center are always accompanied by two or three employees-it is believed that this is done for reasons of their own safety. A small black DVR is attached on the pursuit of Lieutenant Colonel of the FSIN, in his hands he has a monitor - so as not to make a mistake in choosing an angle of shooting.
We go to the investigative office, where the film director Oleg Sentsov has already been delivered.
Tall - under two meters of growth, unshaven, black -haired, in a blue prisoner robe, wary and closed - this seems to Sentsov in the first minute.
He was brought to Moscow from Simferopol in handcuffs on an ordinary flight aircraft - earlier, he says, he saw this only in the cinema. We are trying to joke: they say, watch, and now they shoot the movie, here is a small video camera. But Sentsov did not support the joke: he, of course, does not see anything ridiculous in what is happening to him.
He was detained on May 11 in Simferopol, then he spent five days in a single chamber of the Simferopol IVS - he sat there in the so -called safe place where the chief of the pre -trial detention center personally determined him: he, they say, the task that Sentsov would not be killed.
“I thought Crimea would become a bridge between our countries. What is happening now is terrible "
"
Judging by what other detained Ukrainians said, the SIZO Simferopol is the so -called black prison, where the criminals have cameras from cameras. “They scared me that they would put me in a“ press khata ”, but I was sitting normally, there were six pro-Russian people, and I calmly discussed everything with my pro-Ukrainian position,” says Sentsov. - You yourself understand everything very well: here (in Lefortovo) everything is within the framework of the law. If they crushed me, I would not say nothing. I don’t want to write letters home yet. It's easier for me. I know that my friends and relatives will help me. My country, for which I fought, will not leave me. "
Oleg says that he had new ideas in prison, but he does not know whether he will be allowed to keep records.
“Of course, write, even the script, even a novel, Eduard Limonov wrote a whole book in Lefortovo, and it was published while he was still serving his term,” the human rights activists encourage Sentsov.
“I am Russian by nationality, I thought that Crimea would become a bridge between our countries. What is happening now is terrible, ”Oleg says at the end of the conversation. It turns out that he is not like a closed person. As if thawed.
And again the "Right Sector"

Anti -Fascist Alexander Kolchenko FSB of Russia accuses of ties with the "Right Sector"
Another prisoner, Alexander Kolchenko, 24 years old. He is also very tall and thin, a long, almost youthful neck sticks out of a black robe. Alexander does not complain about anything, and only when he is asked questions about his parents, suddenly begins to cry. True, he quickly picks himself together and tells about himself: he graduated from a technical school for organizing tourism.
“I am charged with participation in the“ right sector, ”he barely manages to inform. Employees of the pre -trial detention center immediately interrupt: "You have no right to say anything in the criminal case."
Having already returned to the editor, the New Times correspondent contacted Kolchenko’s friends in Crimea, and they said: the FSB officers who came from Moscow were conducted in his house. Found banks with paint. According to friends, Alexander was close to anti -fascists, arranged actions in memory of Anastasia Baburova, killed by nationalists in Moscow. Nothing is known about his connections with the “right sector”.
War boots
In the quarantine chamber No. 341, where a training teacher at the Military History of the Simferopol Institute of Culture, 33-year-old Alexei Chirny, is sitting a little more than a week, there was nothing that could at least somehow brighten up the life of the prisoner in prison. Only a kettle. Alexei was brought from the bath - the hair has not yet dried up. The New Times correspondent draws attention to his shaved whiskey.
“In general, I love the Militari style in everything - in a haircut, in clothes - wore a military uniform,” Alexey explains. -I am a historian by education, studied in graduate school in Kyiv, wrote a dissertation on the topic "Military-political history of Parthia."
The historian was detained on May 9 in Simferopol, in the same place, the district court gave sanction to his arrest until July 9. His lawyer is state, in Moscow, Alexei does not know anyone.
“I am not eager to talk about my business,” Chirny admits.
It can be understood. At the door of the camera are his military boots without laces.

Ukrainian lawyer Gennady Afanasyev will now have to study the Criminal Code of Russia
On May 8, 2014, on the VKontakte page of the fourth member of the “terrorist group”, Gennady Afanasyev, a record appeared: “Everyone sees what you seem, few feel who you really are.” N. Machiavelli. "
On May 9, Gennady was detained in Simferopol.
Afanasyev is 23 years old, he graduated from the Faculty of Law, worked in the prosecutor's office of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Simferopol.
*** Vasily Simonenko - a famous Ukrainian poet (1935–1963).
The journalist of Ukrainian Pravda Ekaterina Sergaskova told The New Times that Afanasyev, along with local artists and journalists, participated in the filming of videos in support of the pro -Ukrainian movement. There is a small video on the Web, where Afanasyev with a Chuba a la Taras Bulba reads a poem by the famous Ukrainian poet Vasily Simonenko ***.
Afanasyev shaved his forelock, like the rest of the hair, still in the Simferopol pre -trial detention center. Like the other prisoners brought from the Crimea, he is dressed in a dark robe, a rich tattoo is slightly visible due to the cutout.
“I don't need a lawyer. I have already given a confession. Here the conditions are normal, you can serve your term. ”
“Why is he so sure that he will have to serve the deadline? After all, they have not even been charged even, - the member of the PMC Lyudmila Alpern is worried. “It seems to me that this guy of all four is the most vulnerable, something is wrong with him.”
Journalist Ekaterina Sergaskova told The New Times that Afanasyev’s mother was very scared: the FSB officers told her that her son was going to commit two terrorist attacks. Maybe Gennady Afanasyev himself was scared?
Lubyansk "tests"
The correspondent of The New Times could not find out any secrets of the preliminary investigation. But the suspicion crept crept up: something is wrong here; Are we not witnessing a fabrication of a resonant criminal case?
The FSB has already reported on the arrest of members of the sabotage group, which, as usual, should be the organizer. It seems that the investigation is trying for this role by the film director Oleg Sentsov.
"
The suspicion crept in: are we witnessing the factory of resonant criminal case?

**** Civil movement for a single Ukraine.
“For everyone who knows Sentsov in Ukraine, the case against him seems absolutely Fakeov,” film director Vladimir Tikhiy told The New Times. - During the events on the Maidan, Oleg often came to Kyiv, participated in Avtomaydan ****, and actively helped to export the families of Ukrainian military from Crimea to Kyiv. He was probably one of the most active civil activists in the Crimea, which helped a lot. I know that he found grants to launch his new film “Rhino”, but postponed shooting because of his civil activity, which seemed more important to him than cinema. He seemed to want to change the country with everyone who stood on the Maidan. "
According to Tikho, on May 29, about 70 figures of Ukrainian culture staged a picket at the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv, demanding to contribute to the liberation of Sentsov from custody. SBU employees came out to them and promised that the issue would be resolved a few days later.
Meanwhile, the Russian FSB promised a completely different one - in the near future, the charge to Sentsov and three other prisoners.
