Gorbachev was discharged from the hospital

The first and last president of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, who had been to the hospital on the eve, has already been discharged.

“The state (health) today, of course, is better than yesterday. (...) Well, I have been discharged and now I’m going to work,” said the former Soviet leader of Interfax .

The former politician on the eve turned to the doctors due to poor health. Gorbachev explained this with an exacerbation of the disease and was upset that the ailment did not allow to monitor the events of the Nobel Week . In 1990, the first president of the USSR himself was awarded a prestigious international award: he was awarded the Nobel Prize of the World for the openness that he brought to Soviet society.

Gorbachev suffers from severe diabetes for several years, resembles Snob . In 2011, he underwent a complex operation on the spine in Germany. In 2013, Gorbachev refused to visit the funeral of Margaret Thatcher for health reasons, and in the same year he was twice hospitalized.

In the summer of 2014, Gorbachev spent two weeks in the hospital, where he underwent a course of rehabilitation of blood vessels and joint treatment. “So I live: either in the hospital, then in the country, then in the hospital, then in the country,” said Mikhail Gorbachev. Because of this, he could not attend goodbye to the former President of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze.

Recently, Gorbachev made a number of statements about the situation in Ukraine. He called Crimea to the Crimea to Russia "Correction of the USSR error." He also urged to stop the armed conflict in the Donbass, as this could lead to a full -scale war in Europe.

Mikhail Gorbachev was the last Secretary General of the CPSU Central Committee, the last chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, as well as the first and last president of the USSR.
