Geological exploration holding "Rosgeology" will be transformed into a state corporation, RBC reports . A letter to the president with such a proposal was sent by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin. The initiative was supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosnedra, as well as the Security Council. Vladimir Putin approved the proposal.
"In the context of a sharply aggravated international situation, the formation of a national company that provides the necessary level of geological and service work is a key industry task for sustainable reproduction of the Russian mineral resource base for a long -term perspective," the document says.
The new state corporation will perform the functions of "a specialized state agent to carry out exploration and the reproduction of the Russian mineral and raw base." Gosdoli in 15 exploration enterprises will be transferred to her. These include leading intelligence on the shelf "Dalmoreneftegeophysics", "Sevmorneftegeophysics" and "Soyuzmorgeo".
In early September, the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Sergey Donskoy made the idea of creating a state corporation. In his opinion, this measure will help Russian oil producers solve problems that arose due to sanctions and prohibition on access to technology and equipment for oil production and in the Arctic.
The status of the state corporation will allow Rosgeology to be more efficient to engage in the reproduction of the mineral and raw base, Anton Sergeyev, deputy general director of the holding, told RBC. Previously, these functions were assigned to Rosgeology by the presidential decree. "As for the company's contracting by 15 geophysical enterprises, this issue after approval in specialized federal departments was entered at the Government of the Ministry of Natural Resources at the beginning of the year," Sergeev said.
Rosgeology was created as a holding with one hundred percent participation of the state on the basis of Centergeology by Decree of the President of July 15, 2011. It included 37 more relevant state enterprises.
On September 12, the United States and the European Union imposed new sanctions against Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine. The American and European packages of new measures are largely similar. In particular, the largest oil and gas companies are subject to both European and American sanctions. It is forbidden to supply them with goods and technologies necessary for the development of oil fields in deep -sea plots and Arctic shelf, as well as in shale layers.
On September 30, the American oil giant Exxonmobil announced a folding due to sanctions 9 out of 10 joint projects with Rosneft , including reconnaissance and potential production on the Black Sea shelf, in the Arctic and Western Siberia. The Anglo-Golland company Shell, due to sanctions, suspended cooperation with the Russian oil company Gazprom Neft as part of the joint venture "Khanty-Mansi Oil Union".
