Greece began negotiations on the exit from the IMF credit program

Greece began negotiations with the International Monetary Fund on the country's withdrawal from the organization’s credit program, Reuters reports with reference to the statement of the Greek Ministry of Finance.

Monitoring of the IMF program should end in 2016, and until that time the country's government is obliged to submit reports on the budget situation. The IMF positively assesses the decision of Greece, as he believes that the organization helped its development.
The IMF in his statement confirmed that the head of the organization Kristin Lagarde met with Greek officials, including the Minister of Finance and the head of the Greece Bank and noted the positive results of the efforts of the Greek government to improve budget indicators, and also reminded of the need to carry out some structural reforms.

Negotiations with the IMF were held after the Greece parliament voted for confidence in the government of Antonis Samaras. The Prime Minister called the vote extremely important for preparing negotiations and expressed the hope that it would put an end to rumors about early parliamentary elections.

In 2013, the Ministry of Finance of Greece stated that until 2016 it would need a small loan loan relative to the past loans - in the Greek and German media, the amount of 13 billion appeared. The International Monetary Fund also voiced the approximate figure. According to the IMF, in 2015, the deficit in the Greece budget was supposed to amount to € 5.5 billion, in 2016-€ 9.5 billion.

Greece received the first package of external financial assistance in the spring of 2010. The second is in early 2012.
