
The head of the Russian Officers organization, Anton Tsvetkov, appealed to the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin with a request to initiate a change in the preventive measure of the main defendant of the Oboronservice case, Evgenia Vasilyeva, who is currently under house arrest, to arrest in the investigative insulator, Izvestia reported .
According to Tsvetkov, the very fact of Vasilyeva’s maintenance under house arrest with the ability to take walks, visit shops and beauty salons, shoot clips and arrange their presentations "discredit the principle of justice of the forensic preservation system."
On July 31, the Moscow City Court refused the appeal of lawyers Evgenia Vasilyeva and left the defendant under house arrest. Lawyers asked to choose any other measure of punishment not related to imprisonment.
Evgenia Vasilieva is accused of 12 episodes of criminal activity. The investigation claims that the former official, through the OboronService, controlled by her, sold the most liquid property of the Ministry of Defense at low prices. The total damage from Vasilyeva is estimated at three billion rubles. Currently, her criminal case is considered by the Presnensky court on the merits.
In the spring of this year, two personal exhibitions of paintings by Vasilyeva were held, a collection of her poems "Vasilok Songs of Zhenya Vasilyeva" was published, in June she presented a video for her first song. On October 13, she released the next video for the song “Smuckles”, which she wrote about in her microblog, posting a link to the video and without explaining how the operators managed to take her under house arrest on the country road. The song was based on an episode of a search with Vasilyeva, during which, as the media reported, large slippers were discovered. The press has repeatedly reported on close relations of the former Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov and Evgenia Vasilyeva.
