Fernando Alonso will leave the Formula-1 team at the end of the current season. This was announced on October 16 by the ex-president of the team Luke Di Montedzemolo in an interview with the Italian television channel RAI.

According to him, the Spanish racer wants to try himself in the new team and in the new conditions. “Alonso leaves for two reasons. Firstly, he wants to change the situation. Secondly, he is already at the age when there is no way to wait long for victories, ”Montedzemolo explained.

It is noted that the rumors about the departure of Alonso appeared simultaneously with the news that Four -time world champion Sebastian Vettel will come to Ferrari from the Red Bull team.

Alonso became the champion in 2005 and 2006 in the Renault team and joined Ferrari in 2010. According to RAI, McLaren will become the new team of Alonso.
