“It is obvious that the mission of the school is to set the guidelines that determine the actions, solutions, the choice of goals. And the teacher must learn to distinguish the truth from lies, help to develop a life position, ”the president said. At the same time, today “in some places” Vladimir Putin observes the surge of nationalism, the loss of family-moral values, cultural traditions, identity. “This does not end with good, as a rule,” he summed up.

This also applies to the level of income, and therefore the prestige of the work of teachers, ”the president said.

A few words were said about a single history textbook. Putin, we recall, repeatedly spoke out that Russian schoolchildren teach history if not one textbook, then according to a single line of books, thus depriving teachers of the right to choose benefits. In Penza, Putin noted that the introduction of a single line of school textbooks took place "based on the results of a wide open dialogue."
