The video poetry laboratory opens

The festival "Fifth leg" and the bookstore "The Order of the Words" launch a new project - the video poetry laboratory.

The laboratory consists of several levels: practical, theoretical and competitive.

Competition part

The competitive show of the Fifth Leg festival will be held in St. Petersburg, on the new stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater on November 22. The competition includes two nominations - professional and spectator - 25,000 rudders each. You can send applications to kamapuna@yandex.ru . Reception of work for the competition ends on November 1, the short list will be announced on November 5.

The application for the competition must contain the following information:

• Authors (poet and director): Name, Contacts
• The name of the work, timing. If verses in a foreign language, there should be Russian subtitles, English subtitles are welcome and very useful for further rental, the translation can be represented separately
• Link to the presentation version (YouTube, Vimeo, VKontakte, etc.)
• Link to the version in maximum quality

Practical part

The competition program will present seven video poetic works shot in the laboratory by famous directors of cinema and theater. Dmitry Volkostrelov, Dmitry Mamuli, Dmitry Brusnikin, Evgenia Berkovich, Vsevolod Lisovsky and the Akyn Opera team, Yuri Klavdiev. The seventh work is prepared by Elena Kostyleva and Konstantin Shavlovsky along with the students of the center “Anton here is nearby”.

Theoretical part

On November 22 and 23, poets Elena Fanailova and Pavel Arsenyev will hold two round tables dedicated to video poles.

“Over seven years, video poetry has experienced different states: from a clawed genre embryo to an independent, constantly developing format of a statement. - write the curators of the project Ekaterina Troepol and Andrey Rodionov. - Cute popping videos fill VKontakte, epic short films, game naive. And at the same time - experimental work with text and space, media art, installations and performances. A competitive program is our statement about the present time. ”
