Russia will not publish the "black list" of the European Union officials, compiled in response to EU sanctions. This was stated by the Russian Permanent Representative of the EU Vladimir Chizhov on the air of the Russia-24 television channel.
“Such a list really exists. And no one came to it by accident. About leaders, the top leadership of countries is not talking about,” Chizhov said. “Nothing obliges us to betray vowels - neither Russian legislation, nor international obligations. In the international practice of all time, stop lists are usually published. The publication of such a list from our part would only serve as an escalation of stresses in the entire Ukrainian situation.”
Russia will not ask for the European Union to cancel sanctions, Chizhov noted. “I emphasize: Russia will not ask for anything. We will not beg the European Union or cancel anyone else,” he said. “Alas, there are enough hot heads in Europe, even too much. Sometimes there are not enough cold heads. Here is the problem. Unfortunately, we do not see the strategies for the exit of sanctions.”
On September 25, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned that in response to EU sanctions , European politicians may prohibit entry into Russia. “The EU cannot expect that we will substitute the second cheek after we receive such a gift on their part,” said Ivan Soltanovsky, director of the Foreign Minister’s Department of Foreign Affairs.
On the same day, the chairman of the Green Party faction in the European Parliament Rebecca Harms was denied entering Russia . She flew to Moscow to attend the court in the case of the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko . The Harms was held for three hours at border control at Sheremetyevo Airport, and then reported that it was included in the list of unwanted people and its arrival was regarded as an “unusual act”. Harms was forced to fly back to Brussels. She became the first deputy of the European Parliament, who was not allowed to cross the border of Russia.
On September 26, Chizhov said that Harms is a part of the Black List for the European Union . As the owner of the diplomatic passport, Harms did not apply for a Russian visa. "If she had a different passport, she would seek a visa, and she would be refused because she was entered into the Russian stop list. She was closed to the Russian Federation. And he was closed not in connection with the purpose of this trip and regardless of Savchenko, but as the response that the Russian side used after the sanctions list of the State Union of the State Duma and the Council of Councils and members of the Council of Council Federation, ”Chizhov explained.
