The defense of Dmitry Ishevsky, who is accused of participating in mass riots and using violence against police officers on Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012, has appealed the verdict. “We filed an appeal against the verdict. We ask a higher authority to appoint Ishevsky a punishment that is not related to deprivation of liberty, ” said lawyer Dmitry Dubrovin.

On October 10, 2014, the judge of the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow, Natalya Cheprasova, sentenced Dmitry Ishevsky, the last defendant in the Bolotnaya case, to three years and two months in prison. The trial in his case lasted only two days, including the verdict, since Ishevsky fully admitted his guilt, and his case was considered by the court in a special manner without examining the evidence. According to the law, in case of a special procedure for considering a case, the court imposes a punishment of no more than 2/3 of the maximum punishment provided for in the article of the Criminal Code.
