The Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg partially satisfied the claim for the protection of honor and dignity to the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the city Vitaly Milonov, Interfax reports. The court ordered him to pay 25 thousand rubles for non -pecuniary damage to the head of the Center for Expertise EMC Alexander Karpov. Communicating with journalists, Milonov called him a "reptile and a beetle."
“About a year ago, Vitaly Milonov, talking with journalists on the sidelines, spoke about my actions as an expert at the Legislative Assembly. He accused me of some terrible sins, he was quoted. Yesterday a decision of the court of first instance was made, the motivation part of the decision will be prepared after ten days,” Karpov said.
According to him, during the trial, the amount of the claim was increased to 70 thousand rubles, when Karpov found out that it was so much linguistic examination. However, Milonov refused to pay for the examination, and the court did not consider the moral damage so significant, the plaintiff added.
Meanwhile, Interfax reported that the parliamentarian plans to challenge the court decision.
"The court decision will be protested within the time period established by law. If in the end the court sides Karpov, he will be paid" 30 silverniks ", that is, a trifle," the agency said in the press service of Milonov.
As the agency notes, this is the first time that the court satisfied the claim to Milonov about the protection of honor and dignity.
In December 2012, cultural figures wrote an open letter to President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with a request to deprive Milonov’s mandate of the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg . The deputy is accused of causing great reputation for the city. The letter was signed by the music producer Yana Rudkovskaya, artist Philip Kirkorov, skater Evgeny Plushenko, singer Valeria, singer Nikolai Baskov, singer Dima Bilan, producer Joseph Prigozhin, singer Valery Syutkin, entrepreneur Natalya Sindeeva, skater Evgeny Plushenko, football player Vyacheslav Malafeev, Marsel group and many others.
"In the entire history of St. Petersburg there was no other person who, in such a short time, was so glorifying our city in the whole world. A man on the Neva became a man on the Neva, whose actions are contrary to traditional ideas about the inhabitants of the cultural capital of Russia," the letter said in a letter. “Mr. Milonov Sachs of St. Petersburg is rapidly turning into a circus, becoming a miserable for the whole world.”
