Police arrested US Senator for participation in protests in Ferguson

In the city of Ferguson (Missouri, USA), where unrest lasts about the second for several months of murder of a black teenager by a police officer, Senator Jamila Svid was detained.

Recall, on Saturday, October 18, activists announced the beginning of a four-day action in the city of Saint Luis and Ferguson adjacent to it. Over the past days, more than a thousand people took part in pickets, marches and spontaneous rallies. In August of this year, in Ferguson, the police shot the 18-year-old African American Mile Brown. The law enforcement officers were white. According to law enforcement agencies, Brown refused to submit to the requirements of law enforcement officers and entered into hand -to -hand combat with one of them. Relatives of the murdered insist that the young man was shot dead when he raised his hands to give up. The case of the policeman Darren Wilson will consider a large jury.

On October 8, another young man was shot in St. Louis, and at the time of the incident a 32-year-old policeman with six years of experience was not in execution. However, he was dressed in police uniform, as he worked for a security company in agreement with the department. The names of the policeman and the deceased are not officially disclosed, but they note that the law enforcement officer is white, and the young man is black. Relatives of the young man refute the information that he shot a policeman, claiming that the boy was holding in his hands only a sandwich, not a weapon.

Saint-Louis is only 20 kilometers from the city of Ferguson. And in that and in another city, after each of the two murders, mass protests were held. During one of them, the unknown shot at the policeman and wounded him in the hand. Among the African American majority living in this part of the state, the opinion is that the police specially haunt blacks on the basis of racial prejudices. This also seems likely because the Ferguson police are mainly white Americans.
