The Moscow government has put up for auction 100% of the shares of OAO Koptevsky Market and 100% of the shares of OAO Severny Market in the north of Moscow. This was reported in a statement by the Moscow Department for Competition Policy.

The starting price of the shares of the Koptevsky market is 202.24 million rubles, the Northern market - 171 million rubles. The auction will take place on December 23, 2014.

The authorized capital of the Koptevsky market is 71.9 million rubles. The area of the three land plots on which the real estate of the OJSC is located is 13.4 thousand square meters, 785 and 132 square meters, respectively. The company also owns 13 non-residential buildings with an area of 39 to 321 square meters.

The authorized capital of the Northern Market is 21.59 million rubles. The market is one three-story building with an area of more than 8,100 sq. m.

The Koptevsky and Severny markets are not the first such objects to be put up for auction. Earlier, Moscow authorities tried for over a year to sell 100% stakes in OAO Kuntsevsky Market, OAO Danilovsky Market, OAO Velozavodsky Market and OAO Lefortovsky Market.

The markets were put up for auction by the State Unitary Enterprise for the Sale of Moscow Property in the summer of 2012.

The starting price has been reduced by approximately 30% since then. Thus, by the auction on October 15, 2013, the Velozavodsky market had fallen in price by 18.8% to 2.73 billion rubles, the Lefortovsky market by 39% to 643 million rubles, the Danilovsky market by 31% to 1.43 billion rubles, and the Kuntsevsky market by 35.5% to 709 million rubles.

In 2013, the auction for the sale of the markets was postponed four times. Experts said that potential bidders still considered the price too high - the assets would take at least 15 years to pay for themselves, which is twice as much as investors expected. In addition, these markets are burdened with the obligation to maintain the profile of the enterprise - trade in agricultural products - for 49 years.

The city currently owns 11 markets. So far, the city has found a partner for the reconstruction of only three markets - Koptevsky, Severny and Lyublinsky. It is the company "Corpestate", which is part of the restaurant holding "Rostik Group".

The investor will rebuild the purchased facilities into farmers' markets under the brand name "Ecobazaar". Each of the facilities will cost Corpestate $20 million, with a payback period of seven to nine years. The company plans to create 10-15 such markets in total.
