Google has launched an email service called Inbox, which the company believes will allow users to focus only on important messages. The service was announced on the Gmail blog .
Inbox is powered by Gmail, so it uses pre-configured folders, labels, and filters, and has the same contact database as regular mail. Google says Inbox doesn't provide the same experience as Gmail, which is the point of the new service.
To reduce the flow of messages in your inbox, Inbox groups messages by affiliation and context. Gmail itself works in a similar way, sending everything it considers advertising to the Promotions folder, and updates from services and social networks to the Social folder. Inbox has expanded the number of sections, adding purchase and delivery notifications, ticket confirmations, and customizable folders for specific groups of people.

Inbox has a built-in reminder service: leaving a note about a planned task, the user will always see it at the top of the inbox list. The Highlights and Assists microservices help you deal with mail - the first shows a preview of the contents of letters without forcing you to go inside, and the second displays cards with information that helps you cope with assigned tasks.
Examples of Assists
Just like Gmail in its time, at first only those who have an invitation to the service will be able to use Inbox. Those who receive an invite will be able to share them with friends, thus creating a viral spread for the application. Those wishing to receive an invitation to the new service can write to inbox@google.com; invitations began sending out on October 22.
\ \Specialized Western publications are bewildered by the fact that Google released Inbox separately from Gmail, and did not integrate all the listed functions into the main service. Tech blog TechCrunch suggests that in this way the company can test innovations on a small percentage of users so as not to irritate the bulk of the Gmail audience.
Inbox is reminiscent of the Mailbox email client, which launched in February 2013 with a similar model: to download Mailbox, you had to wait in line . The application interfaces are also similar: Mailbox popularized the use of swipes to send letters to the archive and set reminders to respond to a specific letter. The client was subsequently acquired by Dropbox.
