The Ministry of Construction decided to extend the summer time for electric meters and promised that the transition for citizens would be free

The Ministry of Construction introduced a draft resolution to the government, extending the "Summer time" to calculate the cost of electricity for multi -tariff meters. This was reported by Izvestia with reference to the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of Andrei Chibis.

According to him, the draft resolution was agreed at a meeting on Friday.
“The main thing that managed to agree on is that users should not pay for reprogramming electric meters. The cost of servicing meters has already been laid down in the current tariff. Therefore, the procedure will be free for users: the organization’s specialist reprograms the device during the inspection. Only in extreme cases, when the company proves that it has incurred additional costs, it will be allowed to make them to the tariff, but these will be unit cases,” said Chibis.

In order not to wait until the readings of the device bring into line with the law, a citizen can call a specialist for reprogramming. According to the draft resolution, the company’s specialists will be supposed to reprogram the meter within a month after the application is received.

According to Chibis, it is expected that the resolution will be signed in November, but it will act as a “rear” number - that is, from October 26, when Russia switched to the “winter” time. “At the same time, special explanatory letters were sent to all regional resource supply organizations and regions administrations to avoid misunderstandings,” Andrei Chibis promises.

Earlier, deputies of the State Duma Committee on Energy sent a corresponding request to the Government Chairman Dmitry Medvedev. According to their estimates, the transition to winter time will cost the Russians at least 15-20 billion rubles, and the deputies asked to consider the possibility of compensating this amount from the federal budget.
