It is worth noting that Yustas did not seek to beat Baumgartner's record. Back in 2011, he turned to Paragon Space Development , specializing in equipment to maintain life in extreme conditions. A record jump has become part of the project to develop special equipment to facilitate a person’s study of the stratosphere. It is assumed that in the future these technologies will be used to implement tourist flights to the stratosphere as part of a project called World View Experience.

A record jump took place on October 24. In the morning, Yustas spent four hours in an oxygen chamber, where nitrogen was gradually removed from his lungs and blood. Then he was put in a special spacesuit, which differs from the cosmic only by the location of life support systems on his chest, not his back.

Like Baumgartner, Yustas rose to a multi -kilometer height with a balloon filled with helium, but did not use a capsule when lifting. The speed of rise was about 300 meters per minute, and the entire process of Ustas took more than two hours. For another half an hour he stayed at an altitude of 41.4 kilometers, and then, having plenty of the view of the earth, he unwaculated from the balloon.
