Students will be attracted to the construction of the bridge to the Crimea

The Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) is going to attract Russian students to build a transport transition through the Kerch Strait, Izvestia reports with reference to the head of the department of Roman Starovoit.

"It is not yet clear how much students will be involved in and whether this is paid work or, possibly, is simply organized as a student practice. However, it is unlikely that students will be allowed for highly qualified work, most likely they will be involved in installation and engineering work," Starovoyut said. He admitted that one of them can be involved in more serious work.

“In any case, participation in such a project will help the professional future of students and decorate their portfolio. The student will always say at the next stages of his career that he still participated in the construction of the bridge through the Kerch Strait,” the head of the agency noted.

In Rosavtodor, have not yet decided on which universities will be recruiting students. As an example, Starovoit called the Moscow Road State Technical University. It is also known that students from Crimea will be connected to construction.

The construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait with a total length of 19 kilometers is scheduled for 2014-2018. Currently, the cost of work is estimated at more than 228 billion rubles. In September, the Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov announced the beginning of the first stage of construction.

On October 29, the "representative" of the occupied Republic of Crimea under the President of Russia Georgy Muradov proposed to lay a tunnel instead of a bridge in the Crimea. According to his estimates, such a project will take much less funds: 60-80 billion rubles.
