The shortlist of contenders for the NOS (New Literature) Literary Prize for 2014 has been announced. The "short list" was announced on October 31 as part of the opening of the Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair.
The following reached the final of the award: "It's called so" by Linor Goralik, "Telluria" by Vladimir Sorokin, "Conqueror of the Ornament" by Maxim Gureev, "Parallel Action" by Alexander Milstein, "King of the Drowned" by Alexei Tsvetkov Jr., "Demon Descartes" by Vladimir Rafeenko, " Together with everyone” by Margarita Meklina and two works of non-fiction - “Children of the Third Reich” by Tatyana Freydensson and “Second Hand Time” by Svetlana Aleksievich.
During the debate, the expert community and members of the [NOS award] jury, chaired by the poet and translator Dmitry Kuzmin, formed a “short list” of 9 books.
