Israel opened access to the Al-Aksa Mosque, but left age restrictions

Israel decided to re-open the day before access to the Al-Aaksa Mosque in Jerusalem, located on the temple mountain, the Sky News Arabia TV channel reports.

According to the television channel, in accordance with the new order of the Israeli authorities, now for Muslims, age restrictions will apply for the ban on the entrance to the mosque for people under 50, RIA Novosti reports. Earlier, Israel has already drove such restrictions.

On the eve of the Israeli authorities for the first time after the six-day war of 1967, completely closed access to the Al-Aksa Mosque, including for all categories of Muslims. The reason for the order was the intention to stop the possible riots against the backdrop of the attempt on the life of one of the representatives of the legal movement of the Jewish state of Rabbi Yehuda Glick. He was hospitalized with severe gunshot wounds after a motorcyclist shot him.

Glick is known for calls for the restoration of the Jewish presence on the Jerusalem Temple Gora, where, on the site of the Jerusalem Temple destroyed in the 1st century, a complex of mosques of al-axa and the Kubbat of As-Sahra-the third most important Muslim shrine after the Saudi cities of Mecca and Medina.

On Thursday morning, it became known that the fighters of the anti -terrorist special forces of the Israeli police (pits) shot the Arab resident of Jerusalem, suspected of a night attempt on Glyca Jehudu. The search for the attacker, who disappeared from the scene of the crime on the motorcycle, continued until the morning and ended in the Arab district of Abu Tor. According to RIA Novosti, the police press secretary Miki Rosenfeld, employees of law enforcement agencies surrounded the house where the suspect was hiding. During the ensuing shootout, the suspect was killed.

In connection with the possible aggravation of the situation, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu ordered to transfer the additional police forces to Jerusalem.
