
The second Moscow International Festival of Puppet Theaters starts in Moscow on Friday, this year it is dedicated to British culture and literature, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the organizers of the event.
According to them, the festival will open at the Moscow Puppet Theater. Guests will be able to see theatrical productions on the works of Shakespeare, Wilde, Kipling and other British authors, take part in master classes and a round table. The festival program this year is dedicated to the cross year of culture of Great Britain and Russia.
"The Moscow International Festival of Puppet Theaters in Russia is unique. The current one, for example, is completely devoted to how the art of the Puppet Theater is reflected in the literature, art and culture of Great Britain," said the art director of the festival Boris Goldovsky, whose words are given on the website of the Moscow Puppet Theater.
As the organizers noted, the purpose of the festival is to show that the contemporary art of the doll theater is universally, the acting game in it is synthesized with the skill of the puppeteers, both the drama and the tragedy are subject to it. Theater groups of England, Belarus and many cities of Russia will come to the festival, which will present to the audience of Hamlet, King Lira, Macbeth and other performances based on the works of Shakespeare, Wilde, Kipling, Biseter, Milna, Traverses, which will be interesting to both children and adults.
The special guests of the festival will be the famous puppeteer-pugment Konrad Fredericks and one of the best puppeters in the world Stefan Mottram. As part of the festival, master classes and a round table with the participation of the director of the International Institute of Theaters of the Puppet Theaters Elogo Riveren will be held.
The festival will continue to work until November 8. The performances will be held at several venues: in the Moscow Regional Puppet Theater, the Children's Chamber Theater of Puppets, the Children's Book Theater "Magic Lamp" and the Moscow Theater "Shadow". The first Moscow International Festival of Puppet Theaters took place on the basis of the Moscow Puppet Theater in November 2012, it was such famous masters as Zhordra Bertrand, Duda Payva, the theater company Yase Tamam.
