China: We respect the integrity of Ukraine

China respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. According to RIA Novosti, such a statement was made by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunin, commenting on the illegal "elections", held the day before in the Donetsk and Lugansk "People’s Republics".

“China consistently advocates non -interference in the internal affairs of other states,” Hua emphasized. She also expressed the hope that “in the circumstances, all parties will be able to maintain a ceasefire,” and announced the desirability of political resolution of the conflict.

In matters regarding Russia's aggression in Ukraine, China is generally neutral. So, on March 27, when the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution with condemning the annexation of Crimea, the Beijing delegation abstained during the vote . Meanwhile, in early May, the media wrote that the construction of a bridge in the occupied region through the Kerch Strait is supposed to attract the Chinese state -owned company China Railway Construction Corporation and the private foundation of China International Fund.

At the end of August, it became known that the United States convinces China to join the sanctions against Moscow. Meanwhile, a month earlier, the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hong Lay stated that Beijing was against "in the practice of international relations at every opportunity to raise the question of applying sanctions and threats about their introduction were heard."

At the end of October, China, along with Russia and Cuba, refused to support UNESCO’s resolution on monitoring human rights violations in the Crimea. Nevertheless, the document was adopted.

The winners in the “elections” of the heads of the DPR and LPR were announced by the current leaders of these groups, Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky, and in the “elections” to the “supreme advice” of terrorist formations - “movements”, headed by Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky.

Ukraine, just as the United States and the European Union, did not recognize the "elections". Meanwhile, in Moscow, the "elections" were called the held. "Selected representatives received a mandate to solve practical problems to restore normal life in the regions," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
