In recent decades, the state has never considered education, science and culture of priority areas - although it often declared the opposite. And over time, in general, a full -scale offensive began - “optimization” of universities, reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other academies, the merger of schools, the liquidation of hospitals, etc.
The library business did not seem to be an exception: since the spring around the scientific pedagogical library named after K.D. Ushinsky began to take place suspicious events, which have now reached the stage of the sudden shift of the director and the coming to the leadership of new persons, never before in the field of library, education and science that did not work. And the library building in the center of Moscow, the mansion of the XVIII century. The situation is probably familiar to everyone.
The library team, which does not agree with the similar actions of the founder (Ministry of Education and Science), began various actions to protect the library. In particular, on the CHANGE.org website, the former director T.S. Markarova posted a petition ( http://goo.gl/lhcx4n ), and a letter from the team sent to the Minister of Education and Science D.V. Livanov. The petition and letter of the team are available from the links from here: www.echo.msk.ru/blog/echomsk/142807070
I ask you to support the library using the signature of the petition and sending this letter to your colleagues and just acquaintances. I believe that we all will be able to survive the current era of destruction and survive to the new period when creation begins again.
Sincerely,
Head. Scientific and analytical department of NPB named after K.D. Ushinsky
