Savchenko’s sister was banned from entering Russia

Vera Savchenko, sister of the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, was banned from entering Russia until the end of the year. This was reported in the statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

On Wednesday, according to the agency, Vera Savchenko arrived at the Moscow Domodedovo airport along with the Ukrainian pilot’s lawyer to meet her sister in SIZO-6 Pechatniki. However, when passing passport control, Russian officials presented her with a notification about the ban on entry into Russia until December 31. The basis for this in the paper was called part 1 of Article 27 of the Law "On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and entry into the Russian Federation" (refusal to enter "in order to ensure the defense capacity or security of the state, or public order, or protecting public health").

Employees of the Embassy of Ukraine, who were at the airport, provided Vera Savchenko help in returning to their homeland and accepted things from her to transfer to her sister.

The Ukrainian lawyer of the pilot was allowed to Russia. She intends to visit the TFR, as well as meet with the client in jail.

“We consider such a step in the Russian side completely groundless and aimed at further providing pressure on the illegally detained Nadezhda Savchenko through gross and demonstrative violations of her procedural rights, neglect of universal needs,” the Foreign Ministry emphasizes.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Moscow instructed to send the corresponding note to the Russian side.

The 31-year-old Savchenko fought in the east of Ukraine as part of the Aidar volunteer battalion and in June was captured by the militants under the city of the happiness of the Lugansk region. On July 8, it became known that it is contained in the Voronezh pre -trial detention center. In Russia, she was charged with murder aiding. Savchenko does not plead guilty and declares that he was stolen from the territory of Ukraine.

On October 28, lawyer Ilya Novikov said that one more case could be instituted against Savchenko - about the illegal crossing of the Russian border. According to Novikov, such an accusation is necessary to confirm the version that Savchenko was not brought from Lugansk with a bag on his head, but was detained when accidentally checking documents on the highway in the Voronezh region.

Meanwhile, on October 30 , the Kiev prosecutor’s office declared the “head of the LPR” Igor Plotnitsky and a certain citizen of Russia Alexander Popov suspects of the abduction of Savchenko and taking it into hostages.
