Oleg Kashin filed a complaint with the ECHR

Journalist Oleg Kashin filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights in connection with the inaction of investigators who are investigating the case of his beating in 2010. This was reported to Interfax by his lawyer Yonko Grozev: “Oleg Kashin filed a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights about the violation of two articles of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms: the right to life (Article 2) and the right to an effective remedy (Article 13)." Grozev said that over the past three years, law enforcement agencies have not taken any action to investigate the beating of his client.

Four years ago, on November 6, 2010, Oleg Kashin was attacked in the courtyard of his house in Moscow, as a result of which he was seriously injured. On the fact of the attack, a criminal case is being investigated under the article "Attempted murder by a group of persons." The investigators called the journalist's professional activity the priority version of the reasons for the attack. Dmitry Medvedev, then President of the Russian Federation, instructed to take all necessary measures so that the crime was solved.
