RT can fall under sanctions in the UK

The British government media regulator of OFCOM warned the Russian state television channel RT about possible sanctions up to deprivation of a license for violation of broadcasting rules: the channel made bias in the coverage of the Ukrainian crisis.

Today, November 10, RT representatives were called to OFCOM , where they were presented with four violations of broadcasting rules committed in news stories about Ukraine, reports The Guardian .

The call to the meeting followed after the fourth violation.

In his statement, OFCOM notes that despite the fact that the Russian television channel “I would like to give news from a Russian point of view”, all its news stories should be “properly unbiased ... Especially if they are devoted to important and ambiguous political events.”

The regulator informed RT that "any new violations of the rule on proper improperness can lead to further regulatory actions, up to normative sanctions."

This kind of sanctions imply a fine or, in the most serious case, deprivation of a license for broadcasting.
