The ISS crew returned to Earth

The descent apparatus of the manned ship "Soyuz TMA-13M" landed in Kazakhstan. In it, the crew of the 40th and 41st expedition returned from the International Space Station to Earth: Roscosmos Cosmonaut Maxim Suraev, NASA astronaut Reid Vaizman and astronaut of the European Space Agency Alexander Gerst, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the data management center.

The capsule landed at 06:59 Moscow time 85 kilometers from the city of Arkalyk, noted in Tsup. “Landing was normal,” the Roscosmos said in a statement.

A new generation of fruit flies (Drosophil) also arrived on the ground in the launched apparatus. The ancestors of insects are flies who visited the satellite "Photon-M" No. 4. Insects were bred in the course of studying the influence of zero gravity on the development of multicellular organisms.

The transport manned ship "Union TMA-13M" with the crew was strengthened from the ISS on November 10 at 03:31 Moscow time. At 06:05, the motor installation was turned on for braking, after which the ship with the crew began a controlled gathering from the orbit.

The safety when planting the descent capsule "TMA-13M" was provided by about 300 military personnel, 14 Mi-8 helicopters, 3 An-26 aircraft and 6 specialized search and evacuation machines.

Cosmonauts Alexander Samokutyaev and Elena Serova, as well as astronaut Barry Wilmore, continue to work in orbit. On November 24, they will join Anton Cabberry (Roscosmos), Samantha Christophanetti (Eka) and Terry Miles (NASA).
