The reason for the unpleasant smell that appeared in Moscow on November 10 was a malfunction at the Moscow Oil Refinery (MNPZ). This was stated by the first deputy head of the EMERCOM of Russia for Moscow Yuri Akimov.
At the same time, Gazprom Neft, which owns the Moscow Oil Refinery, stated that the information about the accident at the enterprise is not true.
Earlier on Monday, Roshydromet explained the appearance of a specific odor in different parts of Moscow as a "one-off emission at one of the enterprises in Lyublino." Representatives of Roshydromet did not elaborate on the details, adding only that the atmospheric conditions in Moscow do not contribute to the rapid dispersion of impurities in the air.
At the same time, sources in Rosprirodnadzor reported that the Moscow Oil Refinery (MNPZ) of Gazprom Neft could be the cause of the unpleasant odor, and appropriate checks are being carried out at this enterprise. Moscow Oil Refinery is located in the Kapotnya district, located near Lyublino.
“There is an excess of standards for hydrogen sulfide, the content of sulfur dioxide is within the limits,” said Yury Akimov, First Deputy Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Moscow.
