
The head of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Joseph Blatter opposed the World Cup 2022 in Qatar, Interfax reports with reference to the German weekly journal Der Spiegel .
According to the publication, on October 13, during dinner with representatives of the Norwegian Football Union, Blatter called the Qatari sheikhs "arrogant people" who "think that they can afford everything with such money."
FIFA President allegedly also accused the Arabs of supporting the militants of the Islamic State terrorist group. At the same time, representatives of the Norwegian Football Union refused to comment on this topic.
FIFA is considering the possibility of conducting the World Cup 2022 in November or December. The decision on the time of holding the championship will be made in mid -2015.
