Goethe Institute will show the documentary cinema Germany

From November 13 to 19, Goethe Institute in Moscow will hold Blick film festival for the second time. This year, the program has new documentaries from Germany.

At the center of documentary cinema (CDC), eight best German paintings of 2010–2014 will be shown, as well as the retrospective of the Berlin director Uli Gaulka, who will come to Moscow as an honorary guest and will hold a master class for young documentary officers on November 16.

Gaulke is a student of Conrad Wolf, who shoots a solid conventional documentary movie: about American soldiers in Germany ( “Goodbye Gi” ), residents of Havana and their broken TVs (“Havana, my love”) or about cinema lovers of very strange places, such as Northern Korea, Vayoming, Burkina-Faso, carefully preserving their cinema theater ("Comrades by dream")

The figure of Ulrika Plonger, working at the junction of surrealism, feminism, trash and ethnographic documentaries, is much more unusual. Her biography, method and language is told by the film by Brigitte Kramer “Water Wandering Ulrika” ( Ulrike Ottinger - Die Nomadin Vom See , 2012) - a strange experiment in which the author is trying to talk about the object of study of his own object, language. The squinting itself, like Gaulka, comes to Moscow, so that the audience will be able to personally ask the directors - and in the case of the squint, the questions will come up for sure.

Also at the festival, the well-known film “Beltrakki-art of the fake” ( Beltracchi-Die Kunst der Fälschung , 2012–2014) will be shown-about the ingenious chosen artist Wolfgange Beltrakki, for years virtually fake the picture of old masters-and “don't forget me” (Vergiss ”( Vergiss Mein NICHT , 2012) David Zveking - about Alzheimer's disease (or rather about the personal experience of the director, who was faced with mother's illness).

Among the other guests of the Blick festival, Stefan Weiner with the documentary drama "Familie" ( Die Familie , 2013) about the relatives of the dead refugees from the GDR.

The opening of the festival in the Central House of Medical Sciences will appear a catalog of films from the Goethe-Institute collection, which will present films participating in international film festivals, as well as work previously shown on various film projects of Moscow.
