Programmers use keyboards for much the same thing, the only difference is that instead of ordinary words and sentences, they often enter code. Quora users asked the question: do the characteristics of the professional work of developers affect which keys they use most often, and which buttons wear out faster for IT specialists than for others?

Programmer Tikhon Jelvis named the spacebar as his most frequently used key. He gave a confident second place to Ctrl. According to Jelvis, on the one hand, when typing a code, the space has no competitors in terms of the number of clicks over a certain period of time. On the other hand, Ctrl is almost always needed when it comes to some specific actions.

Developer Brandon Strong approached the study of the issue more thoroughly. Using the Whatpulse program, which tracks the statistics of every key pressed on the keyboard, he found that most often he uses the space bar, the left and right arrows, and the key with the vowel “e”. He often explained the presence of the latter in the top by the fact that the word “event” often has to be written in the code.

Another participant in the discussion, Chris Rise, did not dispute the primacy of the spacebar among the most frequently pressed keys. At the same time, the young man noted that when it comes not to one button, but to a combination of them, nothing can beat Ctrl+S in popularity.

Coffee nickname

Anyone who has ever ordered coffee at Starbucks knows that you must tell the serving barista your name. The system is simple: the name is written on the cup with a marker, and then the coffee shop employee shouts it loudly, informing the visitor that the drink he has chosen is ready.

However, as we know, something always goes wrong with names on cups. Complex names are periodically distorted, simple and common ones cause situations in which several customers come to the counter at once for one coffee.

All this often pushes people to call themselves at Starbucks by someone else’s name or even use a pseudonym when ordering coffee. On Quora, they decided to find out: what exactly are the motives for explaining their behavior to those who are used to hiding their real identity from the employees of a famous coffee shop.

A user named Virali Modi said she calls herself Superwoman at Starbucks. It is much easier to remember and write down than Virali and also well emphasizes the girl’s strong character and ability to overcome difficulties (Modi admitted in a comment that she is disabled and uses a wheelchair).

Alecia Li Morgan herself worked at Starbucks for more than five years, rising from barista to coffee shop manager. When she now comes to one of the establishments, the girl also does not tell anyone her real name, preferring the name Kat, which is easy to hear. According to Morgan, no one will ever ask repeatedly whether her name is Alisha, Alika or Lisa.

Brian Dunlap admitted that, despite the simplicity of his name, he often uses something else instead - Mario.

Among other popular pseudonyms, there were also names such as Gustav, Mortimer, Van Gogh, Hammer, Tony Stark, Ace, Shaft, York and Captain Cool.

Relationship model

Threads about relationships often attract hundreds of comments on Quora, but at the same time lead in the number of anonymous reviews. Few people dare to talk about their successful and especially unsuccessful love stories publicly.

When it comes to relationships with models, the situation is even more complicated. In a discussion about what it's like to date a model, there aren't any popular posts that are left under their real name.

One user shared a story about dating three models over the course of several years. Two of them, he admitted, were “sweet and very beautiful women,” but relationships with them never led to anything serious. The third girl eventually became the wife of the author of the recording.
