1944. Death "Tirpitsa"

70 years ago, on November 12, 1944, British aircraft attacked the largest German battleship Tirpitz in the Norwegian Harbor Tromso. This was done with the help of super -heavy bombs "Tollbo" weighing more than 5 tons. One bomb bounced from the tower armor, but the other two struck the armor, making a huge hole in the left side of the ship. This led to a fire and an explosion in a powder cellar, which was torn by one of the batteries of the battleship. The Tirpitz sank in the hockeye bay to the west of Tromso a few minutes after the attack, taking with him to the bottom of 1,000 people from the crew of 1700 people.
