The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has announced an increase in the size of the Turing Award, which is considered the most prestigious in the field of computer science. Thanks to Google's ACM grant, the award is now $1 million, four times what it used to be.
Thus, the Turing Prize, often called the Nobel Prize in Computer Science, equaled it in terms of monetary reward.
"We value the fundamental contributions of scientists to computer science and want to help ACM tell the world about them and their achievements," - Google Vice President Stuart Feldman (Eng. lang.).
