The Buzzfeed publication contacted George Bilt, whom Mikhail Leontyev called the host of the LEA program, he called the source of the satellite picture with the “evidence” of the Boeing fighter of the Boeing of Malaysian Airlines. Bilt explained that he took the image on the same forum on which he was discovered by bloggers after the plot released on Channel One.

Bilt himself does not know if this image was real, but it regrets that his personal letter began to be widely replicated in the media.

Bilt added: “Personally and professionally, I will stop this amateur investigation - the situation is insanely tense and prone to deterioration, moreover, it contains elements of a media war” (English.).

A satellite picture, which allegedly captures the attack of a fighter on the Boeing Malaysian, was shown on November 14 in the “However” program. Mikhail Leontyev explained that the photograph was given to him by the Vice President of the RSI, who, in turn, was sent by a graduate of MIT George Bilt.
After the plot, the bloggers found that the same satellite picture was published in mid-October on a little-known Internet forum. In the further study of the image, signs of fake were revealed. In particular, skeptics argued that the photograph is based on the corresponding section of Google Maps or Yandex.Cart, and the size and appearance of the aircraft are not true.
The host of “however” Mikhail Leontyev told the “Echo of Moscow” that he did not believe in the finds of “bloggers-defects”, although he admitted that he did not know whether the source of the presented satellite picture, George Bilt. The photograph at his disposal was by chance.
On November 15, Channel One announced that his journalists could not find an American who sent a satellite picture. The plot argued that among the MIT releases over the past 25 years, it was not possible to find a person with the voiced by Leontyev. At the same time, in the decoding of the plot, the surname of the man was written as “build”, while the BuzzFeed material is about Bilta (BILT).
