
The Russian historical, educational and charitable society "Memorial" at the conference on Saturday adopted a new charter, Interfax reports.
“The conference adopted a new charter of the“ International Memorial ”and“ Russian Memorial, ”said Arseniy Roginsky, chairman of the board of the Memorial Society. According to him, the company has already begun to prepare documents for the Ministry of Justice in order to inform the department about the amendments.
Earlier, the Supreme Court postponed on December 17 a hearing in the lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice on the closure of the Memorial Society. Otherwise, the hearing would take place before the conference planned at 22-23 to change the charter.
Applications for the transfer of the meeting were filed to the Supreme Court of both social activists and the Ministry of Justice . The Deputy Minister of Justice Sergey Gerasimov assured on November 10: "We have never been an end in itself with the liquidation of NGOs that do not comply with the law."
