Zakhar Prilepin received the “Big Book”
The National Literary Prize "Big Book" for 2014 was awarded to Zakhar Prilepin for his novel "Abode" about the Solovetsky camp of the 1920s. The second place by the decision of the jury went to Vladimir Sorokin ("Telluria"), the third - to Vladimir Sharov ("Return to Egypt"). The prize for his contribution to literature was awarded to Leonid Zorin.
On November 24, the results of the reader's vote of the "Big Book" were summed up. It was won by Svetlana Aleksievich with the book Second Hand Time.
The Big Book premium fund is 6.1 million rubles. The first prize is 3 million rubles. The winners were announced at the Pashkov House in Moscow.
