Levada Center: 58% of Russians against military intervention in Ukraine

23 percent of respondents spoke out for the commissioning of Russian troops to the east of Ukraine, another 20 percent difficult to answer, sociologists say. More than a third of Russians believe that Ukraine should independently resolve the conflict in the east of the country. Also, every third respondent is confident that Russia should recognize the independence of the so -called "people's republics" in the Donbass. 12 percent believe that such a step is undesirable.

The results of the latest sociological surveys on the topic of Ukraine showed that Russians began to be more critical of the policy of the Russian authorities in relation to a neighboring country. The share of those who sees Russia's responsibility for bloodshed in the southeast of Ukraine has also increased. Although, in general, most Russians still approve of Vladimir Putin’s policy in Ukraine, sociologists note.
