Facebook and Roskomnadzor were negotiating

Today, November 27, representatives of the Facebook social network met with the leaders of Roskomnadzor. The meeting discussed issues related to the implementation of new Russian laws on the Internet.

According to Vedomosti with reference to an informed source, the head of the Facebook Policy Policy Department in Northern Europe and Russia, Thomas Kristenen and another representative of the social network, Ekaterina Skorobogatova, came to Roskomnadzor. From the side of Roskomnadzor, the head of the department, Alexander Zharov, and his deputy Maxim Ksenzov and Antonina Proyzhev, participated in the meeting.

They discussed the implementation by Facebook laws recently adopted in Russia - primarily the bloggers law , which obliges social services to inform the statistics of the attendance of popular users at the request of Roskomnadzor.

Representatives of Facebook notified Roskomnadzor that the algorithm for the work of the social network does not allow to track the data that must be monitored by law. Representatives of the social network also found out whether the validity of amendments to the law on personal data will be transferred, obliging to store Russian users in Russia. So far, Facebook does not see the need to transfer servers to Russia.
